The Underground Chamber STANDARD is designed to protect critical underground optical components (most commonly fiber optic closures). It defines a working space to allow convenient access to the components and to carry out servicing. The chamber lid is fitted with a protective locking screw. Chamber inputs should be made exclusively using a hole saw. Never damage the lower flange of the chamber – this risks loss of torsional stiffness and the wall being pushed inward due to ground pressure. The chamber is not intended for traffic by heavier equipment.
