Supporting Young Talent at the WorldSkills Competition

| Trainings & Education

In Brno, young students from the Czech Republic and Romania came together to compete in a demonstration of vocational excellence at the WorldSkills event. Among the key disciplines was working with cables and fiber optic networks – an area that is especially close to our hearts.

The participants experienced the full scope of building network infrastructure, including:

  • Preparing and splicing optical fibers,
  • Proper placement of splices into trays and enclosures,
  • Installing and testing optical cabling,
  • Verifying splice quality using professional testing equipment.

As a proud partner of the event, we provided technical support and equipment – and had the opportunity to witness the next generation mastering the skills that will shape tomorrow’s telecommunications networks.

"Supporting young technical talent is just as important to us as product innovation. We believe that investing in education and hands-on skills is an investment in the future of Europe’s fiber infrastructure,” said Petr Kabilka, Product Manager at PLP Czech Republic (MICOS).

This joint effort by Czech and Romanian students also demonstrated something greater – that technical education knows no borders. It connects schools, companies and countries alike.

A big thank you to the organizers, participants and partners for creating such an inspiring atmosphere. We’re already looking forward to the next edition!
