Our Best Practices with Instructions

| Trainings & Education

We dedicate the first part of our series to a not so interesting topic at first sight. However, as you see below, this is definitely not the case.

Today, we look at instructions for our products, such as Fiber Optic Boxes and Data Cabinets.

Already 3 years ago, we have switched from printed manuals to QR codes, which are placed on our products, and using which you can display the manuals on your smart device. Today, we print the instructions only on request and in some countries where this is not legally possible.

Help Nature, People and Business

We have started with the QR codes because we wanted to help our environment, reduce a huge amount of paper and save business costs. And we are talking about 10,000 EUR per year. It has great importance, especially for cheaper products, such as Fiber Access Terminal Boxes. The costs of printing the manual can be calculated as a few percent of their total sales price.

In addition, a technician does the same thing over and over again. And if each product included the printed manual, many of them would end up in a trash, and it would be completely uneconomical.

The QR code remains a part of the product forever. So if anyone wants to return to the already installed product, he can reload the instructions at any time. The already installed product can also be accessed by someone who has not installed it, and the QR code can help familiarize with the product. This is useful in the process of continuous maintaining and upgrading your optic networks.

More Multimedia Content

Because the instructions are digital, we can use more multimedia content. The instructions are full of colour and installation examples with links to our installation videos on YouTube.

Always up to Date

Everyone who has the QR code can open the latest version of the instructions. So if we change anything in the instructions, everyone can check it.

There are also more QR codes for more languages on our products. It eliminates a problem of the instructions with a mixture of languages in one document.

If Necessary, the Instructions Can Be Printed

Of course, you need internet and data to view the instructions somewhere outside. If it is not possible, you must print the instructions in advance and prepare for the installation. For these cases, we can supply the printed instructions on request. It is a part of our individual approach and customization, which we will definitely talk about in some of other parts of the series.

We have had problems to engage persons who generally work worse with modern technologies. Otherwise, we have got a positive response from all the countries where we operate.

We are convinced that you must feel the progress after opening our instructions. The same progress as in FTTx solutions.
